A Letter from Berlin

Hi Tinokiers!
I thought I should write and tell you about an adventure I just had in Berlin! It was a very colorful adventure!
So I thought it might be fun to head over to Girasol headquarters whilst I am in Berlin!

Admittedly it was in a suburb I haven't been in before and was pleasantly surprised to find a number of toy shops on the same street.
On entering the shop, there is a moment of blinding colour.
In every direction are bright orange, yellow, pink, greens and blues!
To be honest I am a little surprised that most of what I can see is not baby related at all.
There are dolls, hammocks, bags, blouses and numerous other things that exude vibrancy!
There are three women sitting at desks, each with a length of fabric and a pair of scissors, slowly looking for any blemish in the fabric.
They almost blend in with the background!
I introduce myself and find three very welcoming smiles beaming back at me.
And in moments the talk has turned to friends in central America, the new baby-wearing communities in America and Australia, and we joked that the wraps had more frequent flier points than I did.

I should have found my sunglasses before heading to the back room of the shop.
The rainbow had been blown up and fallen to earth in piles of fabric, EVERYWHERE!
Hey I even snagged a look at tinoki's next order sitting on a shelf, almost ready to be shipped off to you!
There are no labels claiming the title of any wrap, I guess the shop owners and assistants must know each wraps name and colour off the top of their head.

I opted for a quick swing on the hammock and for a change I didn't overbalance the thing and fall off.
A terrible habit of mine!
And the women returned to their slow process of checking the fabric.
Apparently each wrap takes 10 hours of work here in Germany.
Well I commend them they must have more patience than me.
I said my farewells, and headed out of the bright world of Girasol and back to the grey streets of Berlin!
And that my friends was my encounter with the brightest shop in Berlin!
I hope you all have such vibrant adventures with your bubs and wraps.
