Spring/Summer Contest in Sustain.able Sprouts

Time to design your dream wrap! You may submit as many designs as you can come up with :)

Contest Guidelines:
*Deadline for submissions is Saturday, March 10th
*Submissions will be uploaded on Monday, March 12th for voting
*Email designs (in jpeg format) to sustainablesprouts@gmail.com with "Girasol Design Contest" in the subject line
*Please include the category in which you wish to enter in your email
*The designer of any submission chosen for weaving, will receive a free wrap in that design!
*You can find yarn color references in the photos listed in the Girasol Yarns folder on our FB page. Please include the yarn NAMES with your submission! If we feel they are off from the actual swatch, we reserve the right to edit the submitted design for color matching purposes.
*A Girasol wrap is 70cm wide, keep this in mind when designing your stripes :)
*Align your stripes in a vertical pattern, as if the left rail is on the left and the right rail is on the right.
*If your design is chosen, you are giving Sustain.able Sprouts the weaving rights to said design.

New versions of...

Because of the big request for the Girasol "Tree of Life" we decided to rewave this design.
In summer 2011 the "Tree of Life" was woven with the follaje and verde loden in the warp and the verde de viaje in the weft.
This time we will offer 5 more colours for the weft.
Preorders can be made until the 29.2.2012.
The wraps will be sent by Michaela Chwolka from Germany this time.

The Most Beautiful Wrap In The World - You Can Vote!

Hello Ola!

Just thought I'd share an interesting thing with you: I write a Hungarian blog about babycarriers, especially wraps and here is a voting about the most beautiful wrap in the world (it's just a blog-voting, but as far as I know the only voting in Hungary about this). The voting already had two rounds and it seems that the winner wrap will be a stripy Girasol wrap -I think it will be an exclusive modell, but this part of the voting has not ended yet.

Just wanted to share that here in Hungary, too a lot of people has the Girasol love :))

Virvatuli&Kaskisavu

The very first parcel of the YSV forum member's Girasol exclusives arrived 2 weeks ago! Here are the very fist pictures taken of these wonderful designs: Virvatuli and Kaskisavu.
There are many beautiful color combinations.
Comparison pictures of them you can find on the Wearababy's Blog.
Both designs were made with several different weft colors: some are bold and bright, others are more down to earth - light and dark - something for every taste. A few of the color combinations were made only single wraps!

Metamorphosis

Ooiebeest has a new Girasol Exclusive - it's the winner of the contest we had in December.
If you checked the votings recently, you may have noticed : design 30 received the most votes! With that, this design, made by Anna-Karin Björkman, is the winning design : Girasol Exclusive Metamorphosis!
We have, together with the designer, adjusted the design to the real colors from the colorchart so that it would be a better fit.

With closing the voting, it's now time for the pre-order!

In february 2012 we are planing to wave brothers and sisters for the "Tree of Life", girl and boy wraps with whose you can wear your child through the year. The following diamant design we will wave:

The 2 colours in the warp will exchange one by one,which will give the wraps a nice shimmering.

Double Rainbow

A new beautiful Rainbow design from Wearababy! Do you like it? :)
The glowing colors of a Double Rainbow surround the bright blue sky. We have three weft colors available: creme, blue and red. The Double Rainbows will be available in March but you can place a pre-order already now.
Double Rainbow is an exclusive Girasol design of Wearababy and PAXbaby. The two sides of this design are almost symmetrical - only the outer rails are different colors: blue and green (not red as in the picture). This will make tying and tightening of the wrap easier.
Three weft color options are available: creme - Clear Skies, blue - Cloudy skies and red - Stormy Skies.
Double Rainbow is not available for other retailers.

Cosmic Rainbow

Marsupial Mama's first Girasol exclusive was aptly named "Cosmic Rainbow," by Marsupial Mama FB fan, Amber.
This wrap is a bright and vivd cosmic rainbow of thin stripes, which is offset by a rich, black backrgound.
This is a fun, funky, and playful wrap: perfect for snuggling a new squish or cuddling a toddler as a wrap hammock.

A computer mock-up will be uploaded this week replacing the olive stripe with a bright orange stripe.

The pre-order for this exclusive will run until 2/10/2012.
There will most likely be a few extra wraps woven, but there is no guarantee of availability of wraps after the pre-order closes.
Wraps are set to be woven in February/March with a potential ship date of mid-April. This date is subject to change depending on weaving time.
I will keep everyone updated as to the status of their ordered wraps.

The swatch below is a close approximation of what this wrap will look like.
There will be some differences due to weaving, thread color and weft color.
I will decide on weft color by the end of this week.

All US orders include free priority shipping.

Orders shipping to Canada have a flat rate $10 shipping fee for Priority International mail with tracking
