In Greek mythology, Calypso is daughter of the god Atlas.
In Homer's Odyssey, Calypso holds Odysseus captive on her island, enchanting him with her singing as she weaves at her loom.
Our exclusive Girasol Calypso design is a 'child' of our Atlas woven pattern: a production mix-up led to unexpected changes in the original Atlas color layout.
The result is this wonderful new pattern in the same eye-catching colors, with the same hand-woven quality and excellent craftsmanship inherent in all Girasol carriers.

Atlas

In Greek mythology, Atlas is known for bearing the weight of the world on his shoulders. Babywearers know this feeling quite well! Our new exclusive Girasol Atlas woven wrap celebrates the honor we all share in carrying our little ones with us, wrapping our adorable burdens in a gorgeous spectrum of heavenly colors.

While seeking to name this wrap, we asked ourselves what places around the world were painted in these colors. We quickly realized that at different times of day and year, these colors are found everywhere! And the maps that connect us all are bound up in an atlas, just as we bind our babies snuggled up against us using woven wraps. Having these two wonderful metaphors in one name was too good to be true!

The Atlas will be woven in both the new cross twill (307 g/m2) and standard weave (208 g/m2) in a turquoise weft.

Mercado Rainbow

When we lived in NYC we LOVED going to all of the farmers' markets.
But once we moved to Alabama, we really missed those giant markets with all their amazing colors!

We designed this wrap with fond memories of those farmers' markets and all the colorful produce.
The Exclusive Girasol Mercado Rainbow reflects the many colors we'd find ourselves gazing upon throughout the seasons.
We hope you love our newest exclusive design as much as we loved strolling about in New York City's farmers' markets!

We have some of our brand new Mercado Rainbow in Girasols NEW Cross Twill Weave!!
Girasol has begun weaving a new thicker, denser twill weave.
The weight per square meter before washing is 273 gm/2 and after washing and shrinking 307 gm/2.
For comparison, a Girasol standard twill weave is 208 gm/2.
This wraps is thicker, denser and more supportive then the standard twill weave and the diamond weave!
