History of Flamenco Toledo design.
When I saw a new Girasol design competition was being advertised on the Polish forum, I decided to submit my project for this carnival themed wrap. I thought it would be nice to have something other than traditional colourful rainbows manufactured. This design was already sitting in my head, waiting to be released. It reflects my memories from a travel to Spain long time ago when I was a student. Me and my friend visited various regions and cities then, and the journey was fabulous, just as fabulous this country is. One memory specifically sunk in my soul-a night time visit to one of the bars in the beautiful city of Toledo in the heart of Spain. We went there hearing flamenco music being played and the singing man`s voice was drawing us in from far away.
It was one of the most memorable experiences in my life-a tiny back street bar filled with locals only, with no other tourists in sight; an elderly man dressed in black and grey, playing the guitar and singing; other men clapping their hands. And women-there were a few women there, mostly older than us then (and now), who had dressed up for the night to dance. I vividly remember their black, red and burgundy dresses. Were they wives of these men? Were they Gypsies ?Were they celebrating something...? I don`t know, and truly that didn`t matter. All I remember is that small but simultaniously, great spectacle that took place in one tiny bar in Toledo on a summer night 12 years ago.
